With the right care, shrinkage is minimal and the fit stays consistent. Bamboo-viscose blends can tighten slightly on the first wash; washing cold and air-drying keeps this to a barely noticeable level. High heat is what causes real change: repeated hot cycles or hot tumble-drying can lead to 3–5% shrinkage and accelerate loss of elastic recovery over time.
To protect stretch, avoid overloading the machine (friction = stress) and skip fabric softeners, which coat fibers and reduce rebound. If your pair feels snug straight from the line, a few minutes of wear will naturally relax the fabric back to its intended fit.
